What is FSM?

Ferdie’s Soccer Magic is a soccer skills development program that specializes in individual skills acquisition, for the advancement of players.  FSM program offers a unique and innovative approach to youth player development.  As a result of extensive research on player relationships with the ball in Spain, Ghana, Brazil and USA, we identified a set of activities and exercises that if made the foundation of a player’s development leads to a faster acquisition of EXCEPTIONAL soccer skills, and a greater sophistication in skills expression
.

We developed a system of teaching these activities, and derived a way of measuring a players proficiency in each activity. The cumulative result, though quantitative, gives us a measure of the player’s ability to handle and express themselves with the ball.   These expressions include both simple and sophisticated skills used by players to elude defenders, create space, and attack.  Therefore, the higher the mark the better the player.

Because we can measure each player’s performance, we can rank and compare players.  Measuring also gives us the ability to track development, and give players an objective analysis of their ball-handling ability.  From our database of past performances, we can guide a player to any level of play.

We give children the tools to unlock their potential. To succeed on the field. To love to play.  Then, we motivate them to train on their own. By helping them build self-confidence, Ferdie’s Soccer Magic leaves children  feeling empowered with the desire to achieve more.

FSM program offers the first objective quantitative analysis of soccer skills, and this is proving to be one of it’s most appealing features among players and coaches.  Players also enjoy the fact that the program is all about ME, my game. 



The most important but most elusive element in player development, has been to get children to love the ball, and play with it as much as possible, on their own, outside of team practices.  A child who plays with the ball often, will undoubtedly be good with it. 

What makes Ferdie’s Soccer Magic program special for kids, is the numeric expression we place on each skill.  The number allows players to quantitatively visualize their ability, which not only gets their competitive juices flowing to top the charts, but also exposes them to what they need to do to achieve success.  Because we engage players on an individual level, they work harder for themselves, and therefore bring greater passion, greater desire and ultimately, greater skills to the team, thus the sport.
