well, and five of those girls won the GOT MILK 3v3 National
Championship in Jan, While another five were semi-finalists.
4. Fortier's Western United u-14G won
states second year in a row. They were undefeated through
2003 maple season, and swept through the State tournament
to the state title. Congratulations on a terrific acheivement.
5. Slingerland's gift an inspiration for 2004 campers
shirt: There is always some sort of mystic and anticipation
toward FSM camp shirts as to what it will look like. Ryan
Slingerland has started a trend. He designed a FSM shirt
and gave it to me as a gift after camp this past summer.
I liked it so much i decided to use it for our shirts
in 2004, consequently establishing the annual "Slingerland
T-shirt Competition". The winning shirt becomes the
camper's shirt the following year. Cool Beans?...

Thank
you for summer.
Thanks to all of you for training with us this summer. The
quality of players coming out of western mass and the state
has reached another level. Competition at camps this year
was fantastic. Returning campers continue to prove that
the second and third time around makes a world of difference,
and basically, the more times you do something the better
you get at it. This year 81% of campers had prior experience
with Ferdies soccer magic, making training sessions
swift, creative, festive and very progressive. It was the
most fun I had in ten years and I have had a lot of fun.
Many
of you are having outstanding fall seasons, starting with
Samantha Fortier at Minnechaug Regional on a blistering
scoring pace, leading western mass. with some 25 goals already
as a frosh. Lisa Dakins u-13 girls went on to win
the prestigious WAGS tournament, and a whole bunch of you
are now on State, Regional, and National team pools. Just
keep going! These are the very reasons why you come to us
and we want to hear more.

Guinness
Record and support
Some of you got to witness my Guinness record on NBC's
"The Today Show" even though the times
changed several times. I am sorry if you missed it. Unfortunately,
live events tend to shift like that. Nonetheless, it was
a wonderful experience. Al and Katie were incredibly warm
and they accommodated my family and I very well. I was nervous
all week till I got there and met the Guinness staff and
NBC crew. I CHILLED, and as they say the rest is history.
I can't thank you all enough for your phone calls, emails
and cards of best wishes. They worked magic...Get the full
story on the speed juggling page.
